Montana Made Mondays: Windrift Hill

Working with the Rocky Mountains of Montana as inspiration, Windrift Hill is a family-owned farm specializing in goat milk body care products. They raise their own Nubian Goats to guarantee the milk being used in their products is the highest quality and fresh from their farm. Each goat, of which they have about 40, is hand-milked twice daily and the kids are bottled to ensure their health and attachment to the farm staff. Healthy goats produce healthy milk, which translates into healthy skin and hair for you.

Goat milk is a natural moisturizer high in proteins, minerals, and vitamins that are easily absorbed into the skin. It hydrates and restores balance to the skin, leaving it soft and supple. Each of Windrift Hill's products, whether it be soaps, oils, lotions, or body butters, contains only naturally-blended ingredients, meaning no weird additives or preservatives. If there's one thing we love, it's a good, natural product, especially when it's from a small, family-owned business.

Windrift Hill's soap is one of the best-sellers here at the park. Each 5-ounce bar is hand cut, so they vary slightly in size and shape, and contains more than 1-ounce of fresh goat milk. Soaps are handcrafted via the cold-process method, ensuring each bar retains all of the moisturizing glycerin of the goat milk, as well as the benefits of the other ingredients, which varies depending on the scent. Their unique fragrances are produced with only the highest quality essential and fragrance oils. Herbs and spices are added in for unique textures and pops of color, while individual bar colors are natural, FDA approved clay oxides dug from the earth. The bars are also not wrapped, as being kept in the open air extends their shelf life. Aromas become stronger when wet, leaving your home or RV smelling wonderful, and I can attest to the fact that their soaps leave no soapy film or residue on your skin.

Windrift Hill's lotions use the goodness of pure goat milk to replenish moisture to your skin. It absorbs quickly, will not plug your pores, and leaves your skin silky smooth. Its light, non-greasy texture makes it ideal for using under makeup.

Another product that's great for replenishing essential skin moisture is their super creamy body butter, which we personally love. It's perfect for dry, cracked hands and feet and even for people with eczema or psoriasis. I've used both their body butters and lotions on long, dry days and my skin goes right back to feeling soft and healthy. Plus, I never have to use much of either for it to be effective, meaning their products last.

The newest product we've decided to carry in our shop is their shampoo & body bars, which have oils geared toward your hair and scalp without weighing your hair down. These bars are extremely gentle, meaning they are great for people with sensitive skin and colored hair, and the rich lather they create is perfect for shaving. Of the three types, the Aloe & Eucalyptus is my personal favorite and has worked wonders on my skin and hair so far. The other two, Lavender & Rosemary and Tea Tree, are loaded with benefits of their own as well though, so they are definitely worth a try.

The Windrift Hill family, goats included, works hard to make the best products your skin has ever experienced, so give them a try! We promise you won't regret it! And if you're hoping to restock after traveling or want to try a few of their other products, be sure to visit their website. All of us here at the park are huge fans of their product, for good reason.
